PTA

The PTA, or Parent-Teacher Associaiton, is the largest parent volunteer-led organization in the United States, with over 5 million members. PTA was created to better the lives of children and strengthen school communities by focusing on the health, education, and well-being of students.

Our mission is to realize every child’s potential, and help make it a reality. To engage and empower families and communities. And most importantly, to advocate for all children.

Here at Bollinger Canyon, our PTA aims to reach these goals by organizing programs and events that:

Promote safe social interactions for our students and their families.
Strenghten our school community by celebrating diversity and embracing differences.

Support and honor our teachers and school staff.
Provide opportunities for students to show their school pride.
Give to those in need through charity drives.
Focus on celebrating the accomplishments, citizenship, and talents of our students.
Enhance student exploration of literacy, math, arts, sciences, and health.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF PTA

PTA is a great way to get involved in the school community, as well as get acquainted with other families and staff members.

Becoming a member allows you access to our online directory, as well as to participate in meetings where you can share your ideas and concerns, talk to our principals, be involved in decision making, volunteer, have a voice, and make new friends.

Meetings are at 9:30 on the third Thursday of each month. Our meeting calendar can be found here.

Become a member of PTA here. Please note that becoming a member does not commit you to doing anything. It just means that you are joining our powerful parent community at Bollinger Canyon Elementary.

WHY SHOULD YOU GET INVOLVED?

We have an amazing parent community here at Bollinger, and it is a large part of what makes our school so great! Parent support and involvement is vital to keep our PTA events and programs running. Not to mention, we definitely can’t do this without our many wonderful parent volunteers.

We know families are busy, and many families are balancing parent work schedules as well. Therefore, we have many different ways to volunteer that fit a variety of schedules and time commitments.
